Rushmoor Honours Two-Time European Champion with Lifetime Membership

Rushmoor Artistic Swimming Club welcomed two-time European Champion Ranjuo Tomblin to Aldershot Garrison last weekend for a special celebration. The entire club gathered—from Waterkids through to Champs, Masters, and our Sync & Swim team—to present Ranjuo with a Lifetime Membership of Rushmoor Artistic Swimming Club.

Ranjuo has been an active member since joining in 2021, and Head Coach Carolyn MacDonald presented him with the Lifetime Membership in recognition of his dedication to the club and his outstanding international success this year. His achievements have been remarkable: in July, he represented Great Britain at the World Championships in Singapore, winning bronze in the Free Mixed Duet alongside Olympic silver medallist Izzy Thorpe. The pair had already secured bronze medals in both the Free and Technical Mixed Duets at the World Championships in China in June, where Ranjuo also claimed silver in the Men's Free Solo and bronze in the Men's Technical Solo. Earlier in the year, he won bronze in the Men's Free Solo in Canada—a testament to an incredibly busy and successful season.

In addition to his Lifetime Membership, Ranjuo received the Napier Trophy from Janet Selley, President of Hampshire County ASA. This prestigious award recognizes the best Hampshire swimmer across all aquatic disciplines for the 24/25 season.

Following the presentations, Ranjuo generously shared his medals with our younger swimmers, giving them the exciting opportunity to see and hold the rewards of hard work and dedication firsthand.

The evening concluded with a poolside demonstration, where Ranjuo performed his winning routine for swimmers and parents alike. He then generously worked with some of our swimmers, sharing techniques and offering personal tips to help them improve their skills.
